Sand Castles

You left me in June
And my soul knew that it was the beginning
Of our unraveling
The crumbling of the sand

Reality gently guided me to the next room
As I tossed
And beat myself
And You
In confusion

Reality showed me the sweater I was knitting
Was just a pile of strings
The castle I was building
Was washing away by the tide

You were never fully there
So I closed your door
